Things To Remember In Playing Black Jack

Poker | Posted by admin
Jul 31 2009

The game of black jack is definitely one of the most exciting card games in the casino. After all the game is very mentally engaging and challenging. However, many tend to get too overexcited and rush in to the game. This inevitably leads to a rather disappointing loss.

In order not to suffer that fate, it’s a  good idea to be prepared before coming to a casino table. And the best way to be prepared is to have a strategy for use. To be able to come up with a good strategy, you need to keep in mind a few useful tips.

The most important thing that you probably need to keep in mind is basic strategy. As the name says, basic strategy is the simplest strategy that you can you can use in the game. Even the most complex black jack strategy has the basic strategy at its core. Thus, for your own benefit, it is better if you memorize the basic strategy chart, it is in fact very easy to memorize. If you are not able to memorize it, you can just always write it on paper and look at it from time to time during the game. Be a little discreet about it, though, if you don’t want to become the laughing stock of other players (it’s a rather horrible experience).

Also you should know how to play your cards properly. Often, a lost game can be saved by good card handling skills. Thus, you need to be able to make a good decision on how you are going to use your cards. For example, you should know when splitting a pair can be advantageous and when it is not. The key here is knowing how to read the cards being dealt. One useful technique is card counting to determine the current composition of the deck. From here, you can then decide what to do based on your chances.

Another useful tip that you need to keep in mind is to use the various betting options to your advantage. Given that you already know how the cards will turn out, you can then choose which bet to lay in order to get to most out of the round. For instance, if you already have a sure winning hand, you can then double down to increase your winnings. Also, these betting options can be useful to come from behind if employed properly.

The last tip is rather strange but very helpful. You should know how to read people, since a very slight sign of frustration or other emotion will give away the opponent’s current hand. This info you can then use to your advantage. Be aware though, that you also need to know how to hide your own expressions as these can be used against you. This part is one of the more challenging aspects of the game, but it will definitely come to your aid once you mastered it.

How to attend to the needs of your NDS cards

Poker | Posted by admin
Jul 30 2009

If you are an eager Nintendo owner then there is a big opportunity that you purchase multiple Nintendo DS cards. Though, NDS cards are comparatively low priced comparing other cards available in the market, you would like to take care of it because it includes invaluable data and gaming info. Most of us are not so conscious about the correct guidelines how to treat their NDS cards for better future use, and this resulting in missing precious data and subsequent need to purchase another NDS card. So, if you are seeking advices on how to better deal with these NDS cards, here are some tips and tricks:

1. NDS cards are not destroyable. If you take a look then you see that they are made of long-lasting, durable material but it does not imply that it cannot be literally destroyed. They are firmly built but in natural world nothing can stand up against severe pressure from a great body of mass. If it unintentionally slipped off your hand and a motor vehicle runs over it, do not anticipate it wouldn’t be cracked or crushed. The best way to prevent such occurrence is not to carrying your NDS cards in unsecured locations.

2. NDS cards are highly susceptible to acids and other chemicals. They will readily undergo distortion if they are brought in contact with any acid and chemicals. Therefore, exercise special care while separating it from your Nintendo DS, any small mishandling can make your card damage.

3. NDS cards are also vulnerable to strong magnetic field. It can attract iron and metal. So, you need to keep your card entirely away from other metallic contact all the times. Similar to normal credit and debit card severe magnetism can affect the chips codes available in your NDS card.

How to Create a New Card Game

Poker | Posted by admin
Jul 29 2009

Creating a new card game can be as easy as taking an old card game and changing some of the rules.  Just look at Hearts.

Hearts is a trick-taking card game for three to six players.  It is best played with four players.  The object of the game is to avoid taking Heart cards in tricks.

For each hand, the cards are dealt one at a time face-down around the circle as far as they will go equally.  Extra cards are laid aside, unseen.  The player with the Two of Clubs then becomes the first lead player.

The lead player lays down a card, and each player in turn moving clockwise around the circle lays down a card.  Those cards must match the suit of the lead card if possible.  The player playing the highest card in the suit that was lead takes the trick, and leads to the next trick.  A Heart card cannot be lead until one has been played that does not match the lead card.

Heart cards taken in tricks each score a point.  The player with lowest score when another player’s score reaches 100 wins the game.

New rules have been added over time to create new Hearts card games.  A three card pass was added after the deal and before play.  You pass three cards to a player, and a player passes three cards to you.

Another rule commonly called ‘Shoot the Moon’ was added.  With this rule, if you take all scoring cards during a hand, you score zero points, and each of the other players score the total of all scoring cards in play.  Or you subtract the total of all scoring cards from your current score.

One new rule made the Queen of Spades a scoring card worth 13 points, while another new rule made the Ten of Diamonds a scoring card worth minus-10 points.

With new rules came new names for some of these games.  People now play Black Queen or Omnibus Hearts instead of Hearts.

So what can you do to create a new Hearts game?

You could change the rules to make all of the red cards scoring cards.  Heart and Diamond cards would each score 1 point.  Or you could make Heart cards each score 1 point, and Diamond cards each score minus-1 point.

Or you could change the rules so that the Two through Nine of Hearts each score two points, while keeping the Ten through Ace of Hearts each scoring one point.

Or you could add some rules from Crazy Eights to make Hearts more interesting.  You could play a card with the same rank as the card laid down by the player to your right, no matter what the lead suit was.  And you could play an Eight and change the suit of the lead card.  (The Eight would belong to the new suit.)

Or you could change the criteria for winning the game.  The player with the second-lowest score when another player’s score reaches 100 wins the game.

Poker | Posted by admin
Jul 28 2009

Whether you buy R4 firmware or any R4 Ds or R4 Dsi cards, always go for the trusted places. Purchasing electronic goods is a good option from online stores too. Many websites are very simple to access and surf. They have this search tab where you can type the name of the product you are looking for. For instance, you can type the R4 ds or R4 cards in the search and get a list of devices related to it.

These online stores even offer good discounts and you can purchase these R4 cards for almost half the price at times. Don’t worry about the transaction. When you select your choice of R4 Ds or R4 dsi cards, the website will take you to another step where you need to fill all the necessary information. These online stores are all powered with secured software which is tested for the online transaction.

The R4i card for the Dsi games is the best newly launched flashcard in the market. The R4i is produced by the R4 team which is best known for its R4 cards from a long time. In 2008, the original R4 card making team broke up and since then other companies started making similar R4 cards using the original brand name. They were all hacks of the R4 firmware which is now getting outdated. To enhance your knowledge before you decide to buy R4 cards, you can either look for the information in the search engine or read the blogs, articles and reports. Whether you want any information on the R4 cards or the Ds or Dsi games or even the R4 software or R4 revolution, online research is the best option.

5 Poker Tips

Poker | Posted by admin
Jul 28 2009

Here’s some stuff that has helped me put some extra cash in my wallet.

Tip # 1 Here’s a great way to tell if you suck at poker (in case your not sure), Keep a spread sheet!!! Starting now log your wins and losses, dates etc… Even who you played with if you want to really keep track of what’s going on with your game. If you play a lot It’ll be pretty clear if you need to adjust your game or not, or maybe find a group of friends who are playing on the same level as you (beginner, advanced etc), cause getting as good as those guys who are consistently beating you is gonna get pricy! The school of hard knocks sucks, which brings be to my next tip.

poker-cardsTip # 2  READ A BOOK!!! No not “To Kill a Mockingbird” a book on poker by someone who seems to win a lot, your Daniel Negraneaus, your Phill Helmuths, Doyle Brunson, ANY BOOK!!! These guys aren’t winning consistently because they’re lucky. They’ve been there done that and you can’t put a price on experience. So take $20 bucks and go get a poker book! Daniel Negraneau says “The day you admit you don’t know everything about poker is the day you actually start learning something”.

Tip #3 Practice!!! Go log on to Full Tilt and open an account, try to play tournaments with your make believe chips, why tournaments? People tend to play tighter if they know that in order to cash they have to finish in the top 2 or 3. On line for fake chips people are total idiots and it becomes Bingo not Poker in “fake cash games” if anything you’ll get sucked into playing like a donkey cause “Hey, that guy just pushed all in with 7-3 off suit and won, why can’t I?” Cause you unlike him are trying to get better.

If you’re generally playing a home game with 4 to eight people in your weekly game, then don’t get all crazy in a 27 man tournament. Simulate your weekly game, use what the Pro’s told you and what knowledge you have and develop your game.

Tip#4 Set limits for yourself! Hold’em is a sick perverted game in which you are constantly trying to take other people’s money, God I love this game! But if you walk into a friendly cash game with $100 dollars be prepared to walk out without it. At the end of the night you walk to your car, cry on the way home, wonder how much of that $100 your gonna tell the wife you lost, but hey nobody made you push all in with pocket 3’s, you lost, Accept it. Even if you think you did everything right, you still are gonna have those nights. Only risk what your willing to lose.

Tip# 5 No book can teach you this one…but it is soooo important. PATIENCE!!!  If you have it then your probably a better poker player than most of your friends so cheers.

So there I am, I’m card dead, I forgot what a face card looks like and I’ve had 4-10 no less than 6 times in the last hour, well I can do one of two things, Get up and walk out or, wait for some cards. I suggest getting up and leaving but that’s no fun!  So be patient and wait for a decent hand. It also puts people on high alert that if your in a hand you probably finally got something so play that K-Q aggressively.

May the Nutz be with you!

How to calculate Texas Holdem odds

Poker | Posted by admin
Jul 24 2009

For those of you who already know how to play Texas Holdem this article might help in improving your winning odds. Texas Hold’em poker, unlike any other casino game, is based less on luck and more about strategies thinking and calculation of odds.

In this article I will present the basic principle in calculating odds. You are welcome to visit my Texas Holdem odds calculator page for more elaborated information.

So how do we start?

The first thing you need to understand about calculating odds in Texas Hold’em poker is that basic mathematical skills, a good understanding in probability and a good memory are required. Don’t worry if you don’t consider your self as having these skills. You can easily obtain them after giving it a try your self for a couple of times.

Pot odds:

Pot odds are the odds for earning in this Texas Holdem hand. Calculate the gambling sum that is already on the table. Add the amount of money we predict the other players are going to put in this round, (after we put our bet). Take this sum and divide it by the amount of money we will have to put in we want to match the other players betting. For example, if there were 10$ put till now and we need to put in 2$ to call the bid, then our chances are 2 to 10. Meaning for every 2$ we put in, we have the chance to win 10$. Every time there’s a change in the amount on the table we have to recalculate our pot odds.

Outs

‘Outs’ are the tool that we are using for calculating our odds. It comes from the word – ‘outside’ and you will soon understand the connection. We start with a total of 47 outs in a flop. Every card in the pack that we can’t see it considered as a possible option. These cards are called ‘Outs’.

For example, if you have a king and an Ace. Since there are 4 kings in the pack and 4 aces and we know about one king and one ace. This means we have 6 possible option, or 6 ‘outs’.  The odds are now 6/47. This means you have about 19% to take this hand and you opponents have all together about 80% of taking the hand. After the first round another card is opened in the middle and now we have to recalculate the odds for a hand. If the new card was not a king or an Ace then we need to change our odds to 6/46 and so on.

The final calculation of our Texas Holdem odds is a combination between the pot odds and the outs. Only then we can make a realistic decision about whether to fold or match the bets all the way.

Texas Holdem Rules – How to play Texas Holdem

Poker | Posted by admin
Jul 24 2009

Texas Holdem, is considered by many as the most popular form of poker. The game, if played well, requires calculations and gaming strategies that makes the game less about gambling and more about statistics and odds.

How to play Texas Holdem:

The basic principle of Texas Holdem is that the players use the same communal cards for completing a hand. It goes like this:

  1. Each player is given 2 cards that are facing down. A first round of betting starts.
  2. After this round of bets is finished 3 cards are placed in the middle and these are called – ‘community cards’. This stage is called ‘The flop’. At this point a round of bets is started.
  3. After this round of bets is finished a fourth card is placed next to the first 3 also facing up. Another round of bets starts.
  4. After this round of bets the fifth and last card in placed also facing up.
  5. At this point the players need to decide about their odds of getting a good hand with the open cards and the card they have which they haven’t seen yet. A final round of bets starts and in the end each player opens their personal 2 cards and can combine the 2 cards with any 3 cards out of the 5 communal cards.

After reading these instructions it may be a little clearer to understand why calculations and odds play a big part in this game. There’s a special calculation table that can give a player the exact percentage of his or her chances of winning this poker hand or loosing it.

The professional and experienced poker players do these calculations in their head. The beginner Texas Holdem players use Texas Holem calculation tables or Texas Holdem Calculators in which you can enter variables and get an answer in a matter of seconds.

The more you play Texas Holdem the more you find that these calculations are not as hard as they may first appear. The sentence ‘Practice makes perfect’ really applies to learning how to play Texas Holdem.

As a beginner in Hold’em poker you should probably try playing first in the free Texas Holdem games. Practice some rounds, experiment with some odds and only when you feel confidant transfer to the real money Texas Holdem game. All of the online casinos offer a Texas Holdem download directly from their site so starting off will probably be easy for you.

USA residents are only allowed to use the free Texas Holdem games for practice since at this time online gambling, including online poker for real money is illegal in the USA.
